(KMJ) – The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office says it will continue to use a helicopter, drone and dive teams to locate the body of a teen who slipped and fell into the Tule River Sunday Night.
But crews now say, due to the severity of the river’s flow and the water’s frigid temperature, the operation has transitioned from rescue to recovery. That’s due in part to the fact the 16-year old did not know how to swim and was not wearing a life vest.
The Sheriff’s Office adds crews will continue to search the Tule River until the boy’s body is recovered.
