Fresno and other cities around the Valley are making sure plenty of sandbags are available, in anticipation of the incoming storm that could bring plenty of rain.
You must bring your own shovel and prepare the sandbags yourself at many of the following locations.
After filling your sandbag follow these steps.
* Fold the top of your sandbag and place it facing down so that the sandbag rests on top of the folded part. Overlap bags so there are no gaps in-between.
* Step on the bag to flatten the surface so they fit tightly together.
* Place bags with the folded top facing uphill to prevent bags from opening when water flows by.
* Follow these steps to help you optimize pyramid stacking of sandbags.
Sandbags are available at the following locations throughout the Central Valley:
Biola – Area 4 Road Yard, 12855 West “G” Street
Fresno – Clovis area, Area 7 Road Yard, 9400 N Matus
