Partial Government Shutdown Could Affect Wine Grape Prices

FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Wine grape growers are now uncertain, about whether they’ll receive their preliminary report from the USDA.

The ongoing partial government shutdown is making the publication date of Feb. 8 for that report less likely, the longer the government is closed.

The final crush report is due Mar. 8.

Contracts between growers and wineries depend on the reports to set grape prices for the next year.
