FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – A Fresno non-profit organization urgently needs Christmas toy donations.

The Boys2MEN-Girls2Women Foundation is hosting their 6th Annual Toy Drive to help forgotten children in North Fresno communities.

Their party is taking place at 4:00pm on December 21, when they will hand out the toys and provide food, and music for the families.

While filling orders on Thursday, Joseph Perry, the Executive Director said they discovered a major catastrophe.

“For some reason this year, their boxes didn’t get too full, now we’re short toys for about 65-70 families,” said Perry.

Perry said they need toys for mostly for children, ages 9-17.

“Most people are giving toys for children aged infant – 8 years old. This poses a problem because for the many families who have children aged 9 – 17, we have an extreme shortage.”

The Boys2MEN-Girls2Women Foundation is located by First and Dakota in Fresno.

Perry said the excitement during last year’s Toy Drive was “unimaginable.”

Families started lining up as early as 7:00AM with high hopes of having a great Christmas for their children.

Perry hopes to offer the same joy this year and is asking the public to please drop off toys up until 6:30 Thursday night or before afternoon Friday.
