FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – 2.4 million boxes of Duncan Hines cake mix is being recalled.
Federal health officials warn one variety tested positive for salmonella.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has received reports of five illnesses linked to Duncan Hines.
Consumers are cautioned not to bake with or consume the recalled mixes, distributed to retailers nationwide and to some international export markets.
The recalled mixes include: 15.25-ounce Duncan Hines Classic White Cake, 15.25-ounce Duncan Hines Classic Yellow Cake, 15.25-ounce Duncan Hines Classic Butter Golden Cake and 15.25-ounce Duncan Hines Classic Butter Golden Cake.
All have expiration dates of March 7, 2019, through March 13, 2019.
