Fresno Sheriff’s Search & Rescue Team Assist Search For Missing Hiker In Alpine County

FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Team is helping look for a missing Stockton man.

55 year-old Bradford Dozier went missing on October 26, in Sacramento heading to a hike. His car was found on October 27, at Evergreen Trailhead, in Alpine County.

“On Wednesday night, we sent a few members of our Search and Rescue Team up north to Alpine County,” said Fresno County Sheriff Spokesperson Tony Botti. “They are there to assist other agencies in the search.”

Botti says SAR members have been challenged by rugged terrain and temperatures dipping into the teens.

CBS in Sacramento said Dozier is a skilled outdoorsman who grew up in a family of mountain climbers. His brother Jeff Dozier is a pioneer of rock climbing in the Yosemite Valley—”Dozier’s Dome” is named after him.

His family told media that Dozier studied survival, he can build fires, and do first aid. Dozier did not carry a satellite phone, and likely had enough food and water for a single day.

Bradford Dozier is an attorney based in Stockton. He has a wife and three children, two in college and one in high school.

Sacramento Police describe Bradford Dozier: male white, 55 years old. He is 5’10 and weighs approximately 190 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. Bradford was last seen wearing a dark green long sleeved shirt, olive hiking pants and hiking shoes or boots.

An extensive search is currently underway in Alpine County.

If you or anyone you know has any information regarding the whereabouts of Bradford Dozier, please contact the Alpine County Sheriff’s Office at 1-530-694-2231.
