FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – The Cathouse on the Kings is getting ready for its Fall Open House on Saturday.
Fans of the cat sanctuary come from far and wide to travel to Parlier for the annual event.
“We have people come from all over the world, we’ve had visitors come from Australia, England,” said Beth Caffrey, the Cathouse on the Kings Donor & Media Relations. “We’ve had people take a train all the way across the country from Ohio to get to our open houses, so we are people that come from Canada every year.”
Volunteer and Cathouse on the Kings spokesperson Beth Caffrey says there are more than 800 cats living on the property.
The Fall Open House brings in money to pay for food and vet care for all the kitties.
There’s guided tours, music, food, a raffle, shoppers can score some good deals, and it’s all for a good cause.
“Well, we have a raffle for a gorgeous ruby ring that’s really beautiful, we have some really interesting cookware, baskets, gift baskets, wine baskets,” said Caffrey. “Tourism, if you’re looking for a tour to go on or if you’re looking for a vacation getaway we have great gift cards for that, as well, and shopping for the holidays.”
The Cathouse on the Kings Fall Open House is Saturday, November 3, 2018 from 10:00 – 3:00.
