FRESNO, CA (KMJ) The bodies of two visitors who fell in Yosemite National Park have been recovered.
The operation was completed on the afternoon of Thursday, October 25, 2018.
Park Rangers worked with helicopter support from the California Highway Patrol to retrieve the bodies of a male and female visitor who died in an apparent fall.
The two people fell approximately 800 feet below Taft Point in an area with very steep terrain.
The recovery operation involved Park Rangers using technical climbing and rappelling techniques, along with the CHP’s helicopter for a short-haul operation.
The Park says this incident is under investigation.
The identification of the deceased has not yet been determined.
