Fresno Police Announce an Arrest for a Series of 5 Robberies

FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – Fresno Police announce the arrest of a man for a series of five robberies in the city.

From Sept. 5 to Sept 19, Fresno Police Sgt. James Fowler said all the robberies took place in an area defined by Ashlan, Shaw, First and Cedar.

  • Dollar Tree: 4021 E. Ashlan, Sept. 5
  • Subway: 3860 N. Cedar, Sept. 7
  • Walgreen’s: 4172 N. First, Sept. 16
  • Wells Fargo Bank: 710 E. Shaw, Sept. 16
  • 7-11: 4909 N. Cedar, Sept. 19

The robber would enter the store, not wearing a mask, demand cash and then exit the store.

Sgt. Fowler said all the robberies were the same except at the Wells Fargo, where he handed the teller a note and demanded cash.

Police said they believe the suspect, 27-year-old Daniel Franco, lives in the area were the robberies took place.

“Latent print evidence was developed throughout this investigation, our Street Violence Tactical Team set up surveillance at this gentleman’s residence, and an arrest was made on the morning of the 20th [September] at 10:00am,” said Sgt. Fowler.

Franco is facing five counts of robbery.
