FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – A South Fresno elementary school is a target — the latest is a case of arson.
Around 7:45p.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2018, there were multiple fires set inside a classroom of Storey Elementary School at 5250 E. Church Avenue.
“They’ve had issues with vandalism at the school before – which were, kids have been vandalizing the school in the past so it’s the possibility that it’s the same group of kids or it could be adults, we don’t know at this point, so that’s why we’re looking for the public’s help,” said Fresno Fire Investigator Nathan Dansby.
Investigator Dansby says the school was broke into the week before, then fires were set on Friday and Saturday.
The suspect(s) used an unknown object to smash a small window on the door of the classroom and made entry into the classroom.
The sprinkler system put out the blaze but not before it caused major water and smoke damage, destroying the teacher’s books and supplies.
