FRESNO, CA (KMJ) — More than two dozen people are displaced after a fire at an apartment complex.
It happened Monday around 10:00 a.m. at an apartment at 475 N. Manilla, near Belmont.
The fire began on the exterior and spread to the bottom and top units of the building. One building and eight units were evacuated.
Fresno Fire Spokesman Captain Robert Castillo says 23 people are displaced, including at least five children following the fire.
The fire caused around $200,000 in damages but there were no injuries.
Captain Castillo says it’s a reminder to check smoke detectors and have an escape plan.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
