FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – The Madera County Animal Shelter says 50 chihuahuas and 5 cats were found living in two vehicles in Coarsegold.
Officials got a tip from a resident, and found the dogs and cats living in a camper and RV in the hogan mountain road area.
The temperatures inside the two vehicles were over 110 degrees.
The Madera County Sheriff’s Office helped animal shelter authorities pull 10 to 15 crates with two or more pups in each.
The dogs had no water or food.
Officials say the animals are okay, but the Friends of Madera Shelter needs help.
On their Facebook page they say they are “FULL TO CAPACITY” and need fosters.
