FRESNO, CA (KMJ) One of the FBI’s most-wanted bank robbers turns out to be a man from Fresno.
The suspect known as the “Faux Badge Bandit” struck again in near Santa Barbara on Friday, but that would be his last heist.
41 year old Keith Goodwin of Fresno took his own life with a self inflicted gunshot as police in Goleta closed in on him at a nail salon near the bank he had just held up.
The FBI dubbed him the “Faux Badge Bandit” because he wore a fake law enforcement badge on his hip and a holstered sidearm during the armed robberies.
Goodwin was suspected in at least 9 bank robberies spanning the Bay Area to LA and points in between.
