Clovis Man Suspected of Shooting Ex-GF Nabbed After Chase

FRESNO, CA (KMJ)

40 year old David Brown is sitting in a jail cell on a parole violation, but many more charges are likely to be filed soon.

The Clovis man is suspected of shooting his ex-girlfriend several times Tuesday and leaving her to die on a canal bank in Fresno.  The woman identified Brown as the shooter before she was airlifted to the hospital.  She also tipped off deputies to the vehicle Brown was driving.

Around 5:15 pm, a deputy saw Brown’s car in the area of Sunnyside and Gettysburg Avenues in Clovis and pursuit ensued.  The Fresno County Sheriff’s Department EAGLE One helicopter was called in to assist.

Brown drove across numerous streets in Clovis and Fresno at a high rate of speed, blowing through stop signs and red lights.  He was finally cornered at the intersection of Bullard Ave. and Fresno Street and arrested.

A woman in the passenger seat was interviewed and later released.  Detectives have not yet submitted charges against Brown. Once they do, he will likely face felony charges of evading police and attempted murder.
