Bay Area Water District Approves $650 million for Governor’s Delta Tunnels Project

FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – A split vote on Tuesday as the Santa Clara Valley Water District approves $650 million for Governor Jerry Brown’s Delta tunnels project; CA Water Fix.

The 4-3 decision goes against the board’s October resolution supporting a single tunnel project.

Governor Brown Issued a statement regarding the vote on what he says is California’s effort to modernize the state’s water infrastructure.

“Simply put, this courageous decision will help two million Santa Clarans have a more reliable water supply,” said Governor Brown

Last month, the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California Board of Directors also voted to support the WaterFix project in full.
