(KMJ) – Law enforcement across the South Valley continue to search for this possibly armed domestic violence suspect who led police on a chase in an RV with two young children inside.
46-year old Stephen Houk (pictured above) is believed to be the man who led police on a chase as he drove an RV from LA, over the Grapevine, eventually ending in an almond grove in Shafter. The chase ended near State Route 99 and Merced Street about three hours after it began Tuesday afternoon.
Two children (a boy, 3 and a girl, 11 months – believed to be his biological children) were taken from the RV to safety, but the suspect was not inside the vehicle.
Houk was believed to have been involved in a domestic violence incident and had been chased earlier in the day by sheriff’s deputies in the Santa Clarita area, until that pursuit was canceled.
Police say Houk is a registered sex offender from Oregon who is on parole for a sex offense. He is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who spots him should call 9-1-1 immediately.
