Police Chase RV Driven By Domestic Violence Suspect From Los Angeles To Central Valley

FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – A domestic violence suspect was leading police from Los Angeles on a chase over the Grapevine to the Central Valley, Tuesday.

The suspect was possibly armed, and believed to have two young children with him in the motor home.

The chase began near Hollywood, but the suspect later got onto the 101 Freeway, and then switched to the 170 northbound in the San Fernando Valley.

He then got on the 5 north to Santa Clarita, driving in the rain, chased by sheriff’s deputies in the Santa Clarita area, until that pursuit was canceled.

He crossed over the Grapevine where trailing police choppers had to break away.

About 14 CHP cars were following behind as he continued driving about 30 miles per hour on the 5.

In Kern County, law officers from the Bakersfield Police Department were enlisted to help with the pursuit, which switched to Highway 99, approaching the Tulare County line.

The suspect had turned and was heading back north.
