FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – The Valley Air District launches a new smartphone app.

The app is called Valley Air, and allows you to find out the current air quality in the Central Valley so you know whether it’s safe to be active outdoors.

Users can keep track of air quality at multiple locations based on hourly data provided by the Real-Time Air Advisory Network (RAAN).

In addition to checking air quality at their current location, users can add, remove and personalize up to 10 additional custom locations, and receive alerts when air quality deteriorates or improves.

Additional features on the app include the daily, residential woodburning status during the Check Before You Burn season and an option to confidentially report an air pollution complaint.

The “Valley Air” app is now available in the App Store for iPhone and in Google Play for Android.
