Gov. Brown Agrees To Send 400 National Guard Troops to Border

FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – Governor Jerry Brown announced today that he would stick to his plan to use 400 national guard members for crime-fighting operations.

The Governor says the Trump Administration will fund his national guard mission without immigration duties.

Brown was working toward the agreement on the state joining Trump’s large-scale deployment along the Mexican border — the President, tweeting that Californians — quote — “are not happy… want security and safety now!”

President Trump had earlier accused California’s Governor of “trying to back out of the National Guard at the border.”

Trump also said there’s a quote — “revolution” in the state — and quote — “soooo many sanctuary areas — want out of this ridiculous — crime infested and breeding concept.”

Brown said the federal government has now agreed to pay the costs, even though the troops won’t help enforce immigration laws.
