FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Ford is recalling around 350,000 pickups and SUVs due to transmission issues.
The recall covers the 2018 F-150 truck and Expedition large SUV, with 10-speed automatic transmissions, as well as the 2018 F-650 and F-750 trucks, that have 6-speed transmissions.
Ford says a clip to lock the gear shift cable could come loose, potentially causing the indicator to show the incorrect gear.
That can allow the transmission to stay in another gear when the driver thinks they’ve placed the vehicle in park, and cause unintended movement.
There’s been one crash and injury due to the problem.
