Fresno Mayor Streamlining City’s Food Truck Permitting Process

FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – Fresno Mayor Lee Brand announces changes to the city’s food truck permitting process.

Mayor Brand is eliminating both the $500 security bond and fingerprint requirement for all mobile vendor owners, operators, and employees.

“After discussions this week with event organizers and staff, I have decided to eliminate both those requirements from our mobile vendor permit application,” said Mayor Brand. “My administration is committed to do everything we can to make Fresno the most business friendly city in the state.”

While the city received favorable feedback about record crowds at this year’s Fresyes Fest – the mayor says there were factors in the special event permitting process that adversely affected some food truck vendors.

The changes will be presented to city council for approval on April 19th.
