Fresno Students Walk Out of Class, Protest Gun Violence

FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Thousands of students walked out of class Wednesday across the US to protest gun violence following last month’s school deadly shooting in Parkland, Florida.  Fresno was no different.

The campus courtyard at Bullard High School was packed with students for the 10 a.m. protest.  The school’s Principal, Carlos Castillo, led off with a brief speech and thanked his students for remaining respectful and peaceful.

There was a 17 second moment of silence for the victims of the Parkland Shooting, followed by a student’s poem.

There were student protests all over the nation following the rampage that killed 17 at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, on Feb. 14.

Some students in Stockton, Ca were seen on video confronting police officers and throwing rocks.  Some vandalism was also reported.
