President Trump Visits California, Inspects Border Wall Prototypes, Slams Governor Brown

FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – President Trump here in California – with unkind words for the governor.

It’s his first visit to the Golden State since 2016, and while touring eight prototypes for his border wall in San Diego, President Trump lashed out at the Golden State’s Democratic Governor Jerry Brown

“Governor Brown’s done a very poor job running California,” Trump said. “They have the highest taxes in the United States. The place is totally out of control. You have sanctuary cities where you have criminals living in the sanctuary cities, and then the mayor of Oakland goes out and notifies when ICE is going to pick them up.”

Trump’s visit was just days after his Justice Department sued to block state laws to protect people living in the U.S. illegally.

Governor Brown’s been very critical of Trump’s immigration policies, “This is a time to build bridges not walls.”

The Governor’s invitation for Trump to tour the Central Valley was not accepted.

Trump describing Gov. Brown as a “nice guy” who “has not done the job.”

The President’s arrival was met by dozens of pro- and anti-Trump demonstrators in the border communities of San Ysidro and Otay Mesa, many holding signs reading “Build that wall,”

More would be at the fundraisers in Los Angeles.

Trump’s rebuttal to criticism on the left; “You know, for the people that say ‘no wall,’ if you had no walls over here, you wouldn’t have a country,” he said. “The state of California is begging us to build walls in certain areas. They don’t tell you that.”

Following his inspection, Trump delivered a speech to troops stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar.

He spoke of his administration’s increase in military funding; “My new national strategy for space recognizes that space is a war-fighting domain, just like the land, air and sea. We may even have a Space Force.”

Trump later spending an evening in Los Angeles, scheduled to attend a private fundraising event in Beverly Crest, and spend the night in the City of Angels.
