Fresno State Coach Rodney Terry Named UTEP’s New Men’s Basketball Coach

FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – Fresno State is looking for a new coach for its men’s basketball team.

UTEP has officially named Coach Rodney Terry as their men’s basketball coach.

Terry will leave Fresno and head to El Paso, Texas to coach the Miners, appointed as the 19th head coach in UTEP men’s basketball history.

Terry led Fresno State to the 2016 Mountain West Conference Tournament title and 3 postseason bids in the last five years.

His hiring is still subject to approval by the UT System Board of Regents.

Rodney tweeting back on March 9th: “Really proud of this year’s team’s resilient heart and fight. I could not have asked for a better group of young men both on and off the court. You guys represent the City of Fresno proud! I have loved coaching this team! 1 of the Top teams in the West! Go Dogs!!
