FRESN CA (KMJ) – The 35th Annual Fresno County History Day took place Saturday at Fresno Pacific University.
213 projects from 475 students were judged on historical accuracy, and clarity of presentation.
Students from 4th graders on up to seniors conducted research then presented their topic in any number of ways from web sites to performances for this year’s theme “Conflict & Compromise in History.”
“We are really proud that we have 60 projects going on to state representing 93 students from our county,” said Pamela McGee, the Director of English Language Arts at Fresno County’s Office of Education.
McGee says the state finals take place in May in Rocklin, CA, the winners will go on to Nationals held at the University of Maryland, in June.
If students didn’t win this year, McGee says the theme next year is “Triumph & Tragedy in History.”
