FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – High-Speed Rail is reporting delays and costs overruns in the billions.
The California State Rail Authority announced on Friday that the bullet train’s price tag has gone up.
It’s now $77.3 billion dollars, an increase of $13 billion from estimates two years ago to connect Los Angeles to San Francisco.
On March 9th, the High-Speed Rail Authority released its draft 2018 business plan, saying the earliest that trains could operate on a partial infrastructure between San Jose and Wasco is 2029, five years later than anticipated.
The project has suffering delays and cost overruns including a recent $3 billion dollar hike for a line of track here in the Central Valley.
