FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – UPDATE: China Peak officials say the resort is reopening on Friday, March 2.
Officials say they plan to run the new chair 2, chair 6 and the beginner hill for Friday and opening more for the weekend.
China Peaks plans to be open Friday through Monday through April.
From China Peak Website:
It looks like all systems are go for a reopening this Friday, March 2, probably Chairs 2 & 6 plus the beginner area, will add Chair 4 for the weekend and if we get enough snow also Chair 1.As you can imagine with us closing mid winter we have lost many staff, including the majority of the 300+ seasonal help we hired back in November/December. We are doing our absolute best to recruit those that might be available as well as cross train many of our full time team, something we’ve done for years. Given many of the staff we are recruiting can only join us on the weekends it is likely we will offer more lifts Saturday and Sunday than on Friday and Monday.
We will operate Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday through the end of this season, hopefully with more storms well into April. The Inn will be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, including rooms plus J.W.’s Original Bar & Restaurant.
We are very much looking forward to seeing our skiing and riding customers on March 2. As always we will keep you informed and thanks for the great support during this most difficult of seasons. Once we see enough snow to form a solid base to insure several weeks of skiing/riding we will announce the long awaited 60th Anniversary celebration, likely sometime in early April.
