Fresno County Sheriff’s Office Searches For Car Possibly Involved In Deadly Orange Cove Shooting

FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – Homicide detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office are searching for a car or video of the car that may have been involved in a deadly shooting in Orange Cove.

It’s a 2014 or 2015 4-door white Kia Optima with black rims and tinted windows. The public is encouraged to contact detectives with any information they may have about the car captured on video while driving through the area where the shooting took place.

Fresno County Sheriff’s Spokesperson Tony Botti says the call came in on December 6th. Officers arrived and found 40 year old Pedro Mantancillas lying on the sidewalk of H Street

“We got a report of shots fired in the city of Orange Cove. It was on H Street, between Anchor Avenue and 12th. Orange Cove Police Officers responded to the scene and found a man lying on the sidewalk. They took a closer look and found out he was deceased.” – Tony Botti, Fresno County Sheriff’s Spokesperson.

Mantancillas was a homeless man known to stay in the Orange Cove area.

A motive for the homicide is unknown.
