Fresno Police Join Multi-Agency Gun Seizure – U.S. Attorney To Release Details

FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – The U.S. Attorney will release details Thursday on a Valley gun seizure.

The case is a joint effort by the Feds, Fresno Police and the MAGEC Team.

Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer says they are working with the U.S. Attorney’s office and other law agencies to remove guns and gangs from the streets.

The firearms case is ongoing, when KMJ spoke to Chief Dyer he could only say that one man was arrested, last week, 260 firearms were seized, and 60-thousand rounds of ammo was confiscated.

“There were other follow investigations and search warrants as well, again we are trying to keep much of the details confidential.” – Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer.

At a press conference on Thursday, January 25th, U.S. Attorney McGregor W. Scott will announce an indictment charging multiple firearms offenses, including dealing in firearms without a license.

He will be joined by representatives of the Multi-Agency Gang Enforcement Consortium (MAGEC) and the ATF at the federal courthouse.
