Convicted Fresno Deputy Police Chief’s Nephew Suspect In Pharmacy Armed Robberies

FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – The nephew of convicted Fresno Deputy Chief Keith Foster is suspected of two armed robberies at local pharmacies and the attempted burglary of a third pharmacy.

Around 7:30am, Monday, January 15th, Fresno Police say 51 year-old Irwin Foster tried to break into The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy at 219 E. Olive through the store’s rear metal security door.

The attempt was captured on store surveillance video.

That same day at 11:14 am, Foster went to the Vista Pharmacy, at 4233 E. Tulare Street, where police say he took several bottles of Promethazine and pushed a tech to the ground, causing her to strike her head and suffer major injuries.

Later at approximately 12:44 pm, Police say Foster walked into the Medicine Shoppe at 2484 E. Gettysburg.

He went behind the counter, wearing gloves and carrying a small pair of scissors, asking where the “Norco” was,then located Promethazine bottles and took them off the shelf.

On January 18th, Foster was taken into custody at his residence.

Foster was booked for two counts of Robbery and one count of Attempted Burglary.
