FRESNO, CA (KMJ) The Jeff Tedford era is off to better than expected start. MUCH BETTER THAN EXPECTED.
Fresno State downed rival #23 Boise State on Saturday at Bulldog Stadium 28-17 in front of a rowdy crowd of more than 31,000.
The Bulldogs first win over a ranked opponent in 13 years means the Milk Can Trophy will remain in the Central Valley for the next year.
The ‘Dogs improved to 9-3 (7-1) while the Broncos now have an identical record. The same two teams will meet again next week on the “Smurf Turf” for the conference title.
“To send the seniors up the ramp with a victory is great,” said Coach Tedford. “It’s another game and we have one more to go. I cannot tell you how happy and gratified I am to see all of the hard work paying off for these guys and this coaching staff who have put so much into it. Boise State has a great football team, we have a lot of respect for them and now we have to go and do it one more time.”
QB Marcus McMaryion threw for a career high 332 yards and two touchdowns in the victory.
The MWC Championship rematch will kickoff at 4:45pm PT Dec. 3rd in Boise.
