FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – Fresno Unified teacher arrested on sexual battery charges in Nashville.
Janai Smothers has been indicted by a Tennessee grand jury for having illegal contact with an underage student.
It allegedly took place during the 2015 – 2016 school year.
Smothers was just hired by Fresno Unified and has been placed on administrative leave.
She was arrested here in town and will be transported to Nashville.
