(KMJ) 2017 has been a much deadlier year than 2016. The murder rate climbed again Friday evening after two young men were found shot to death.
21 year old Rahman Newsme of Fresno was discovered lying in the roadway on Normal Ave. near Mayfair just before 7 p.m. Detectives say he was shot several times by a gunman in a passing vehicle. No suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made.
About three hours later gunshots rang out again along Normal Ave. This time, bullets took the life of 35 year old Sonny Tran of Fresno. Again, no suspects and no arrests.
A motive has not been announced in either homicide.
These are the 45th and 46th murders of 2017 compared to 31 at this time in 2016.
