Internet Privacy Bill Stalls in Calif. Legislature

FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — California lawmakers have the legislative session without voting on a measure, which called for prohibiting internet service providers from collecting and selling personal information without permission.

It also would have prevented ISPs from charging those who choose not to share higher rates.

However, the bill, which supporters believe would restore some the now-overturned federal regulations, could return in January, when the legislature reconvenes.
