FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – Fresno State celebrates making a national list as one of the top universities in the U.S.
Washington Monthly magazine’s list has come out, and Fresno State is ranked #17 of the top 20 universities in the United States.
Fresno State President Joseph Castro exclaimed, “We’re now number 17!” making the announcement Monday at the Jordan College of AG.
The ranking is up eight spots from last year. Fresno State officials say it’s based on the school’s research, social mobility and service.
“As you can see Stanford University is # 1, but we’re hot on the trail!” – Fresno State President Joseph Castro.
There are just seven public universities in the entire U.S., including four U.C. campuses that are ranked ahead of Fresno State; Berkeley, Davis, Los Angeles, and San Diego.
Fresno State is also one of just three schools from the American Association of State Colleges and Universities to make top 30 on the list.
