FRESNO, CA (KMJ) Francisco Zermeno has been convicted of the 2015 murder of his roommate, Hugo Vargas.
Investigators say Zermeno shot and killed Vargas at their shared trailer west of Firebaugh. He fled Fresno County after the shooting and was arrested five days later in Red Bluff.
Zermeno faces a sentence of up to 50 years-to-life when he is sentenced on September 13.
