Investigation Continues In Madera County Officer Involved Shooting

(KMJ) – The Madera County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate an officer involved shooting that happened Thursday night in Chowchilla.

Sheriff’s Lieutenant Bill Ward says Chowchilla Police and the Highway Patrol were called to a home near Alameda and Fourth for reports of a disturbance and a fire.   Once on scene, Ward says a suspect began fighting with members of law enforcement.

An officer from both the Chowchilla Police and the CHP opened fire on that suspect, who died at the scene.  Now, both officers have been placed on administrative leave.

The name of the suspect has yet to be released.
