FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – It’s a good night to look to the sky….

At 9:13 tonight (July 24th), the International Space Station will be directly overhead, that’s according to Brian Bellis as he checked the website heaven-above.com.

“It’ll come up in the Southwest, and go directly overhead and then set in the Northeast.” -Brian Bellis, Member of Central Valley Astronomers.

Brian Bellis is a member of the Central Valley Astronomers and says you don’t need telescope to see the Space Station.

“Very few people realize when it’s going over that it’s as easy to see as it is.” -Brian Bellis.

The Hoover High School physics teacher likes stars, enough to be the Star Party Coordinator for the CV Astronomers, and says if you want to see more – come to their Star Party this weekend at Riverpark.

“We like to take our telescopes because that’s where the public is, and so a lot of people get to look at the moon and the planets on that night.” -Brian Bellis, Star Party Coordinator.

The next Star Gazers event is at Fresno’s Riverpark Shopping Center on July 29th, 2017.

They set up in the “Via la Plata” street directly behind the REI building, straight out from Edwards Theatre.

The star gazing party begins at sunset and lasts until about 10:00p.m.
