Fresno, CA (KMJ) A Porterville police officer is on administrative leave after shooting an armed woman Saturday night.
Investigators say the woman, who was armed with a knife, was acting erratically and breaking items inside a 99 Cent Store on Henderson Ave. when police were called.
The unidentified officer ordered the woman to drop the weapon but she refused and approached a customer. The officer opened fire, striking her twice.
The suspect was transported to Kaweah Delta Medical Center for treatment. Her condition is unknown.
The Tulare County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the incident.
