FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — The Golden State is at risk of losing generations of potential homeowners in the coming decades, if it fails create a greater supply of housing.
According to the Center for California Real Estate, the lack of affordable housing could become a muti-decade issue, which will prevent millennials, and potentially their children, from owning homes.
Homeownership rates here in California continue to lag behind the rest of the U.S. by about 10 percentage points.
Researchers say policymakers should aim to improve access to housing, by altering regulations and expanding infrastructure.
