Study: Fevers During Pregnancy Can Increase Risks for Autism

FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — Women who have multiple fevers during pregnancy, may increase the risk of giving birth to a child with autism.

Researchers in Norway say one fever during any trimester raises the odds by 34 percent, while 3 or more fevers after the first trimester increase the risk by more than 300 percent.

They say their findings indicate the importance of getting a flu shot.
