FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — A key vote could come this week on a proposal for single-payer medical insurance in the California Legislature.
“Healthy California” would establish a public department, which supporters say would cover all operations and services.
The cost: $400 billion a year.
However, an early analysis says about half of that could be covered by existing funds.
The measure could be taken up in the Senate this Thursday.
