FRESNO, CA (KMJ) Former Fresno Deputy Chief of Police, Keith Foster, has been found guilty of two felony drug charges.
On Tuesday, the jury in Fresno Federal Court returned guilty verdicts on counts of conspiracy to distribute heroin and trafficking marijuana. The panel was hung on the remaining six charges.
Foster’s defense attorney E. Marshall Hodgkins called the jury’s decision a “tragedy”.
FPD Chief Jerry Dyer spoke with KMJ News moments after the verdict was handed down. “My primary concern throughout this trial, the arrest and the proceedings has been focused on the people of Fresno. And it’s my hope that they do not lose any type of confidence or trust in their police department”, Dyer said.
Foster is due to return to court in July for a status hearing. He will remain free until sentencing which is scheduled for October.
