FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — The California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians is ending a major audit of credentials, that were requested from more than 52,000 nurses and mental health workers.
The board is said to have only looked over 15 percent of the records it collected, saying continuing with the audit would be overwhelming.
As for sending letters to inform those affected, the board says that ‘ would be an additional workload.”
The Department of Consumer Affairs will instead post a notice on its website, adding that the failed audit has taught them a few lessons.
