Foster Takes Stand, Contradicts His Defense Attorney

FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – Former Fresno Deputy Police Chief Keith Foster took the witness stand on Tuesday at his drug trafficking trial.  Foster is accused of conspiring to distribute marijuna, oxycodone and heroin.  KMJ’s Aaron Abeytia reports that Foster contradicted his own defense attorney while on the stand, saying that his attorney’s claim that he was working undercover is “absurd in this case.”

An FBI specialist also took the stand on Tuesday, testifying that there were no traces of oxycodone in Foster’s urine or blood.  Foster had been prescribed 100 pills of the pain reliever, but allegedly sold 98 of them to his nephew.

Lt. Mike Brogdon, of the Fresno Police Department, said on the stand that he did not believe to his knowledge that Foster was ever undercover the last few years he was working on the force – also contradicting Foster’s defense attorney.

Deputy Police Chief Pat Farmer gave testimony to Foster’s character – and said that he was “utterly shocked” when the Foster was arrested.

Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer has yet to testify.
