Keith Foster Drug Trial to Enter Week 2

FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — After smiling and chucking under his breath during the first few days of his trial for conspiring to distribute drugs, former Fresno Deputy Police Chief Keith Foster appeared tense on Friday when court adjourned.

Prosecutors played numerous wiretaps in which Foster can be heard arranging pot, heroin, and oxcodone deals with his nephews, who’ve also been charged, but have accepted plea deals.

Foster’s defense attorney, E. Marshall Hodgkins, claims FPD’s former second-in-command was working undercover when he was arrested, back in 2015.

Deputy Police Chief Pat Farmer is expected to testify Tuesday, as are Foster and Chief Jerry Dyer at some point.

Foster faces more than 4 decades in federal prison.
