DA Not Filing Charges Against Woman at Motel 6 Shooting

FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – Fresno County Assistant District Attorney Steve Wright says the DA’s office did not file charges against 53-year-old Lisa Renee Martin.

Martin was with Muhammad at the Motel 6 on April 13th, when he is alleged to have killed unarmed security guard Carl Williams.  That shooting occured just days before Muhammad allegedly went on a downtown Fresno shooting spree, killing 3 others.  Police said that Martin tried to flee the Motel 6 with evidence before cops arrived.

Wright says he can’t comment or speculate as to whether or not she will be a witness once accused rampage shooter kori ali muhammad stands trial.

Doctors are reviewing Muhammad’s mental competency to stand trial.  The district attorney’s office has stated that he could face life in prison or death – if convicted.  His next court hearing has been set for June 1st.
