(KMJ) – The California Highway Patrol comes face to face with some unexpected guests on Saturday Night. Here’s what officer wrote in a weekend Facebook post:
“UNEXPECTED GUESTS! Saturday night Fort Tejon CHP Officers responded to a Pine Mountain Club residence for a possible break in. The bear cubs’ crime spree was ended when CHP Officers caught them inside the residence. These cute little criminals were kind enough to use the open door to enter the residence without damage.
Unfortunately, a vehicle in the driveway suffered some damage while these little guys were looking for some food.
Thankfully, CHP Officers Munoz (the bear whisperer), McCarthy and Kazal were able to convince our furry friends to leave the residence without resistance. These little guys were happier to see their momma outside than the Officers were. Momma bear and her babies disappeared back into the darkness without hesitation.”
But, Officer did remind residents in foothill and mountain communities that encounters with bears will increase as the weather warms.
They remind you not to leave food in unoccupied vehicles or outside at night.
