Gallup: Economic Confidence Down Following Inaction on Healthcare

FRESNO, Calif. (KMJ) — The latest Gallup poll shows a 10 point drop in economic confidence among Republicans, following the failure of Congress to hold a vote, on legislation to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act.

The Dow Jones had its worst week since September after that disappointment.

Confidence among Democrats has seen a minimal shift, with a more noticeable decline among independents.

Gallup says if confidence falls further, Americans’ net assessment of the economy could become more negative than positive, for the first time since the election.
