Search Underway For Escaped Mariposa County Inmate

FRESNO, CA (KMJ) – The search is on for a prisoner who escaped a minimum-security facility in Mariposa County.

31 year-old Blake Castro walked away from the Sierra Conservation Center Mount Bullion Conservation Camp, where he’s serving four years for domestic violence.

The Camp’s Commander, Lieutenant Christopher Dean says that CHP, Cal Fire and other law enforcement agencies are assisting in the search.

“Special agents from Sacramento, they’re also conducting interviews with all the inmates here, and notifying some of the local residents, we’re passing out flyers – escape bulletins – going door to door and talking to some of the local businesses.” -Lt. Christopher Dean, Commander Mount Bullion Conservation Camp.

Castro is described as white, 5-foot-9, 240 pounds with brown eyes and black hair, with a tattoo of a Chinese character on his right forearm.
